Pre-Christmas Update

I say that in case I have to put some money back into the household chequing account. I thought I'd have to already, though, but I just did the budget and we're doing better than I thought. So that's nice. This is my update as things stand today.

Last time:
  1. replace $1665.82 of my personal savings
  2. save $20,000 for long-term emergency fund (we currently have $5164.30, so $14,835.70 left to go)
  3. pay off mortgage (as of November 5, our balance is sitting at $96,470.56)
And this time:
  1. replace $1267.44 of my personal savings
  2. save $20,000 for long-term emergency fund (we currently have $5170.67, so $14,829.33 left to go)
  3. pay off mortgage (as of December 3, our balance is sitting at $95,998.83--I missed the November 19 mortgage update)
Yay! Three out of three! I also have a survey cheque to put in the bank still, plus a Christmas cheque from my grandma that should arrive in the mail tomorrow. I might transfer my Paypal funds to my account, too. I was going to wait until I had $150 in there so I didn't have to pay the 50¢ fee, but I bought fudge online (which I haven't received yet), and that ate up some of it. So maybe I'll just swallow the fee.

I'm a bit stressed out about Christmas shopping. I have no real idea what to get anyone. I have to shop for my husband, my dad, my mom, my brother, my grandma, and my stepson and his girlfriend. I think that's everyone. The rest of my husband's family stopped exchanging gifts a few years ago. I've been saving my PC Points to buy a Wii, but I think my husband wants a PS3, so maybe I'll put them towards that, instead. I still want a Wii, though, haha. I have enough for a Wii, but only for about half of a PS3.

I'd write more but my cat is biting my fingers as I type. I think that means I have to stop and pay attention to him.
